The Highland expression was distilled at one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, founded in 1798. Matured for 34 years in a single hogshead cask, the bottle is one of only 202 produced. Bottled at 45.4% abv.
Earthy aromas of Highland peat bogs, roasted barley, dark chocolate, honeycomb and leather arise on the nose, with waves of herbaceous peat on the palate. Along with resin, oak smoke and tar, moving to dried fruit, cocoa powder and dates. Spice rises on the finish giving lasting waves of smoke and turf.Â

Darkness Glen Garioch 18 Year Old Oloroso
$169.95 Availability: In StockA powerful 18-year-old Glen Garioch. This rich expression underwent a three month finish in Oloroso casks before being bottled at 49.4% abv. A sweet and sumptuous dram.
The nose is rich with dried fruit and malt. The palate is spicy and woody, complemented by ripe plums and black cherry. This fruitiness and woodiness continues into the finish alongside sweeter notes of chocolate.

First Editions Glen Garioch 2008
$78.00 Availability: In StockThis Highland single malt was distilled in 2008 at Glen Garioch distillery. After 10 years in a single refill hogshead, this expression was bottled in 2019 by family-run independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. as part of the First Editions series. Only 406 bottles have been filled at a preferred strength of 46% abv, free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
The nose has orange, mint and candle wax. The palate is well-developed with notes of toffee, tea and apples, before a long finish with lingering spice and pepper.

The palate is sweet yet rich with flavours of hazelnut, milk chocolate, and marzipan. The finish is long with a pleasant hint of ginger and nutmeg.Â

This whisky is inspired by the infamous 33-year-old Scotch in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’, where the British/American way of signalling 3 is used, catching out the spy when calling for a whisky. Presented at 46.2% abv.
Expect notes of overripe apples and green bananas on the nose, along with hints of camphor, pine and bread dough. The palate is simply sublime, with a distinct waxiness. Mulled cider, apricot compote and white pepper flavours fade to a long, honeyed finish with a little peppery spice.

Aromas of ginger spices, nutmeg, and raisins meet the nose. The palate has dry sherry notes, liquorice, and tangy orange marmalade before leading into a long, sweet finish with plenty more sherried goodness.
