Diageo’s Special Release 2022 bottles have arrived at The Whisky Shop! This bottle bears a powerful illustration of The Wildcat’s Golden Gaze. Finished in oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, this is a wonderfully sweet and spicy expression.

The nose is refined with honey, smouldering heather, and plenty of garden herbs. The palate is sumptuous and very creamy before leading into a long, peppery, drying, and spicy finish.

As one of the four corners of Johnnie Walker, Clynelish distillery has just one official bottling – the 14 Year Old. This coastal, and gently peated Highland single malt is closer to an Island style than other mainland malts. Bottled at 46% abv.

The sweet and floral nose leads to a pleasant creamy mouthfeel full of maritime flavour. Sea salt emerges on the dry and notably lengthy finish. 

Introducing Clynelish 18 Year Old Waxen Sun, part of Diageo’s ‘Horizons Unbound’ – the 2025 special releases single malt scotch whisky collection. Presented at 51.3% ABV, the release brings a radiant twist to the Highland distillery’s signature waxy style. Using an early ‘pineapple cut’ during distillation, it bursts with tropical vibrancy, carried on a waxen texture that lingers like sunshine. Bright, fruity and elegant, this whisky captures Clynelish in a fresh new light.

Personally selected by the Urquhart family, who have owned Gordon & Macphail for four generations, this Clynelish expression has been bottled as a part of the Private Collection. Aged for half a century in a single American oak cask, the whisky has been bottled at a very impressive 58% abv. Presented in a spectaular wooden box, as one of only 135 bottles.

On the nose, expect aromas of apple, walnut and ginger spice, before touches of Sicilian lime and subtle aged leather come to the fore. Poached pear flavours give way to apricot and banana on the palate, alongside hints of vanilla, pineapple and mature oak. The finish is full and long, with lingering citrus zest.

Bottled exclusively for us at The Whisky Shop, this expression hails from Clynelish distillery and is presented as a part of Gordon & MacPhails revered Connoisseurs Choice series. Aged for 16 years in a single refill sherry hogshead, just 256 bottles were drawn from the cask. Presented at a cask strength of 57.4% abv.

Fruitcake aromas infuse with sweet raspberry and strawberry. Sweet, smooth orange zest flavours join with sultanas and chopped walnut, before a full finish of lingering spice and subtle aniseed.

Part of the Signatory Symington’s Choice collection created to showcase the favourite whiskies of Andrew Symington from the Signatory warehouses, the Signatory Vintage Clynelish 1995 30 Year Old Symington’s Choice #8681 is an exceptional dram. 

Matured for 30 years in a refill sherry butt before being bottled at 54.5% abv, the liquid is full of a waxy, savoury character, folded between layers of rich sherry, sweet dried fruits, and a hint of spice.
