Description
Revealing a softer dimension to the legend of Lagavulin, this expression has been matured in first-fill bourbon and refill casks for a sweeter whisky in which bold smoke has quietened to a hush. Aged for 12 years, and bottled at 57.4% abv.
A testament to oak’s dynamic influence on bold character: powerful peat tempers into inviting sweetness. Notes of smouldering bonfire, carbolic soap and rowan jelly on the nose, with a smoothly creamy palate of coconut, smoke and toffee. The finish is long and powerfully smoky, with a twist of warming spice that lingers on.
