Description
We can see this 1975 vintage becoming more noteworthy in the near future. A rare vintage from the recently reopened Braeval distillery, this is a rare bottling under the name ‘Braes of Glenlivet’, a name that was changed to Braeval in 1994. Lying in the heart of Speyside, this is a distillery that is always sought after by independent bottlers. This expression was distilled in 1975, and bottled in 2011. Selected, produced and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, this is part of their Connoisseurs Choice collection.
The nose gives grassy notes, of hay, barley, and earthy textures. The palate is dry, with toasted oak, and a light, nutty sweetness developing. The finish is of medium length, and gives notes of grains, cereals, and a little tangy spice. A top-notch dram.
