Description
This unique single malt Scotch whisky from the relatively new Ardnamurchan distillery, is made using a 50/50 mix of peated and unpeated spirit. Indeed they also utilise a mixed maturation process; made up of 65% ex-bourbon casks, and 35% sherry casks. The result is a complex and pleasantly drinkable dram.
Expect aromas of nutmeg, stewed apples, caramelised sugar, orange peel and honey. Earthy notes of saltwater and driftwood follow. On the palate, a sweet fruity mix of grapefruit, orange, pear and perfectly ripe peaches. On the finish, a smouldering campfire and warm Sichuan pepper.
