Loch Fyne Whiskies has produced another gem of a liqueur using the classic ingredients of honey and ginger as its base and laced with a helping of the famous Loch Fyne Blend. At 25% abv, it is meant to be quaffed, ideally from the fridge, at any time of the day, as the occasion suits. Now available in a handy flask-shaped 5cl bottle – the perfect way to taste The Loch Fyne range!Sweet and pleasantly light, the Loch Fyne Honey & Ginger Liqueur will transition effortlessly from winter to spring and even summer. As Charles Maclean describes in Whiskeria, it has “a mead-like middle and base of honeysuckle and clove flowers – surprisingly fragrant […] Cool and smooth […] sweet but not cloying.”

Now here’s something worth talking about. A whisky that’s different every time it’s bottled. This is not a single malt, but a living vatting of carefully chosen malts, which in our expert opinion, will marry perfectly. For example the current batch contains a beautiful mix of Islay and Speyside malts. Stocks are topped up and then left to marry before the next batch. – with its unique batch number – is released. These batches are always limited, always different and always a talking point. The cask is stored in the open workshop in our shop in Inveraray, pop up to see us to bottle your own! Official tasting notes:

Fresh creamy vanilla aromas with a dry citrus burst, fresh pine needle and lovely fresh oakiness, it opens nicely with time to reveal fresh apple, pear and rhubarb with a sweet heather bouquet.

It has a creamy mouth-feel with a waxy texture, carrying a lot of flavour, autumn fruits with cherry, peaches and plums combining well with a dry wood spice and a little cinnamon. Adding a touch of water releases a more softer sweeter flavour, marshmallow and creamy coconut with a hint of wood smoke on the finish.

The tweflth edition in The Living Cask series of batched releases from Loch Fyne Whiskies in Inveraray, this intriguing blended malt is built upon the original and award-winning The Living Cask 1745. This batch was bottled at 43.6% abv as a natural progression from the eleventh batch.

Using Batch 11 as the base this Loch Fyne Living Cask Batch 12 has whiskies from Linkwood, Mortlach and Ben Nevis. The Linkwood and Mortlach expressions have been finished in Muscatel Wine to add some rich and sweet complexity.

Sweet, complex aromas of cinnamon, basil, and lemon meet the nose. The lemon notes continue on the palate, further complemented by gentle notes of vanilla and honey, as well as slight oily hint. The long and gentle finish has a salty touch of west coast charm.

The eighth edition in The Living Cask series of small batch releases from Loch Fyne Whiskies in Inveraray, this intriguing blended malt is built upon the original and award-winning The Living Cask 1745. Each batch is crafted with the remnants of its predecessor, meaning this expression is an ever-evolving creation. Under the expert eye (and nose) of Tom Aitken, former Master Blender at Dewar’s, this 2019 batch has brought some carefully selected Highland malts to the coastal notes of Batch 7.

The nose is bursting with exotic fruits, lemon, lime and kiwi, with freshly cut grass and sweet white chocolate aspects. The palate is light and fresh with grassy notes and a warming spice emerging with some of Batch 7’s coastal notes. The finish is incredibly smooth and long lasting.

Bottled by Loch Fyne Whiskies, this single cask limited edition bottling has been matured for eight years in cask #036, and decanted at 53.0% abv. Williamson is the cover name for a whisky from a well-known Islay distillery. One of only 186 bottles.
