Crafted from locally sourced barley, peat, and heather, the whisky is produced using traditional methods including 100% floor malting and direct-fire pot still distillation. Initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, it delivers remarkable depth and character at a robust 60.1% ABV.
Expect layers of bonfire smoke, meadow honey, citrus, and tobacco leaf, followed by rich notes of raisins, dark chocolate, figs, and warm spices. Unfiltered and free from artificial colouring, this smoky yet smooth dram is a testament to Stauning’s grain-to-glass philosophy and craft-driven approach.

Your blank canvas contains the smooth and nuanced Stauning Smoke, made using peat taken from nearby bogs, distilled inside open-fired stills and matured within first-fill wine and spirits casks. An aromatic, smoky fragrance fills the nose, followed by elegant notes of citrus and honey. On the palate, we find a rich taste of tobacco, nuts, vanilla and damp oak, nefore a medium-length finish with accents of green peppercorns. Bottled at 47% abv.
