Plantation Barbados 10 Year Old Rum

Initially aged for a year in bourbon casks, the rum is then shipped to France where it is aged further in cognac barrels, before a unique finish in an Arran whisky cask. Presented at 50.9% abv.
Sumptuous, fruity and rich, with notes of roasted nuts and coconut, before a complex finish of sea salt and baked apple.

Plantation Rum Australia 2007
$72.95 Availability: In StockPlantation Australia’s 2007 is an aromatic, rich rum, that reflects the bold Australia terroir. This limited edition dram spent its first 13 years aging in bourbon casks in a tropical environment. Then, 21 barrels were selected and made the voyage to Charente in France, where the rum was aged for another year in Maison Ferrand French oak casks. This double aging technique, in both cask types and in climates, highlight a very expressive twist behind this rum. A complex dram, this is one to really sink your teeth and tastebuds into.
Aromas of stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, arise on the nose along with vanilla, coconut, raisins, and various floral notes. The palate gives hints of cooked fruits, citrus, and cacao. An oaky finish awaits, complemented by notes of citrus, and cooked fruits.

After 10 years slowly maturing in oak casks on Trinidad, it then spent one year in cognac casks for a finishing period. This has resulted in a rum with a spectacular range of flavour and richness.
On the nose, aromas of freshly ground coffee, dark fruit, and oakiness arise. The palate is rich, and full with hints of cooked fruits, almond nuttiness, and sticky sweet flavours. The finish is also rich, with further dry nuttiness.
