This is the 19th batch from That Boutique-y Whisky Company and was originally a release of 1,123 bottles at 48.5% abv. On the label, we see a certain Laddie on The Generation Game, a very prestigious position at the time.
Rich fruit cake, nuttiness, and sultanas combine on the nose, followed by hints of burnt toffee, spices and dates on the palate. A long, sooty finish awaits, with a hit of dried apricot.

Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2011
$72.00 Availability: In StockThis single malt celebrates Bere barley, Britain’s oldest cultivated grain. A tougher grain to work with than the norm, the result is a splendid texture. Unpeated, this was distilled in 2011 and is aged in first fill American oak ex-bourbon casks for 10 years, a mixture of Jim Bean, Jack Daniels and Clermont Springs. Then, Islay spring water is added. This expression is non-chill filtered, and colouring free. Its strength lies at 50% abv, and it is a limited edition release.
The nose opens with a bouquet of floral aromas, with hints of citrus, barley, and apricot jam. The taste packs in a delicate array of flavours, with hints of chocolate lime, dried banana chips, apricot and malted bread. On the finish, the coastal air breezes in, a fruity character with a salty salinity arrive, holding right to the end. A fruit-punch.

$97.00 Availability: In StockA heritage barley varietal release, the Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2013 uses Orkney-grown bere barley in its creation – one of the oldest agriculturally harvested grains in Scotland. Working with the University of the Highlands and Island’s Agronomy Institute since 2005 to reintroduce Bere barley to the whisky industry, Bruichladdich have here finally achieved that goal and produced a corker of a liquid! Â
The release was matured for 10 years in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill Pauillac wine casks before being bottled at a smooth, yet not quiet, 50% ABV. On the nose, warm citrus, tropical fruit, and sweet malty flour. The palate delivers on those complex grains with unmistakably cereal notes of popcorn, and warm sweet porridge. The finish continues the sweet theme with milk chocolate, and crème brulee, with just a hint of mango and orange blossom honey.

The nose is fruits and floral with crisp apple, pear and orange zest, giving way to oak and cereal notes. The palate is soft and creamy with elderflower and honeysuckle leading to barley sugar. sea salt, vanilla, coconut and cedarwood.
