Description
Established in 1790, Balblair is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and the oldest working distillery in the Highlands. Situated in the ancient village of Edderton in the shadow of the Struie Hill, it would be hard to find a distillery in more scenic and unspoilt surroundings than Balblair. The whiskies are uniquely Vintage, named after the year they were made, not with an age statement. Each Vintage represents an exact moment in time. It’s the ability to judge that precise point in time that makes Balblair so special. The 1997 2nd Release is an exceptionally well balanced dram that has been maturing in first fill American oak, ex bourbon barrels since 1997. The 2nd release of 1997 is on track to secure just as many recognitions and awards as the first release. Non chill-filtered and of natural colour.
