Description
This is one from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Classic Range, a Nicaraguan rum with its eye set being approachable to those unfamiliar. With a slower maturation process than most rums due to Nicaragua’s slightly cooler climate, this captures the essence of the rainforest. At a sensible 40.5% abv, this is a terrific find from the London-based wine and spirit merchants.
Aromas of cocoa nibs, maple syrup, and cigar box arrive, leading into touches of moss, lime, and camphor on the palate. The finish is an enervating, powerful number, with caramelised sugar and sweet wood present.
