Description
Velvet fig is a small-batch blended malt from Wemyss Malts that is packed with aromatic fruit flavour and a smooth, complex oak character. Comprised of a make up of 55% first fill ex-sherry European oak hogsheads and 45% first fill ex-sherry European butts, the colour is a natural mahogany, left free from chill filtration and bottled at a strength of 46% abv limited to 9,750 bottles.
The nose opens with blackberries and milk chocolate and a whiff of roasted walnuts and marzipan. The palate has baked figs, Medjool dates and apricots with hints of winter spices ending with a luxurious mouthfeel of bold spice and oak influence.
