Description
Part of the Archivist’s Selection from The Lost Distillery Co., this blended malt Scotch whisky aims to recreate the style of whisky from Caithness’ now lost distillery of Gerston in Halkirk. Now legendary, the distillery was operational from 1796-1882. Gerston was a favourite among such famous figures as the Duke of Wellington and Sir Robert Peel as well as enjoying export to Calcutta and Buenos Aires. The whisky is bottled at 46% abv, and is free from chill filtration.
The nose has light malt loaf, sultanas, smoke and a strong maritime note. The richly smooth palate brings chocolate and smoke with a mineral twist.
