Part of the second series of single cask releases from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. celebrating great authors.Distilled in March 1983 at Port Ellen distillery on Islay before being matured in a sherry butt for 33 years. Bottled in November 2016 at a strength of 55.9% abv, only 142 have been produced.Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) was a poet, considered to be one of the finest of the Victorian era. In 1850, Tennyson became poet laureate and remained so until his death, the longest serving to date. The first peer to be created for his writing, Lord Tennyson is best remembered for his tribute to British cavalrymen, The Charge of the Light Brigade.
