Port Ellen 1980 34 Year Old Rare Old Gordon & Macphail

Released as part of Gordon & MacPhail’s Old Rare series. Distilled in 1980 at the now-silent Port Ellen distillery on Islay before being matured for 34 years. Just 236 bottles were filled at 46% abv.

On the nose, there are honey baked fruits, garden herbs, toasted oak, and wood smoke. This smoke continues into the palate alongside seaweed and fresh Granny Smith apples before leading into a lingering smoky finish with herbal and meaty hints appearing at the close.
