Description
Bottled by Elixir Distillers, this Port Askaig 28 Year Old is, as ever, an expression from an undisclosed Islay distillery. Aged for almost three decades in specially selected refill American hogshead casks, this mysterious single malt was decanted in 2018. Free from chill filtration, with an abv of 45.8%.
Expect aromas of smoky peat and roasted almonds, with a hint of tea leaves and pine, leading to a palate of sweet orange peel, apple and custard, along with burned oak and sea salt. The finish is herbal and smoky, rounding off this complex dram.
