Description
The original Greek spirit, Metaxa is made with the wine distillates aged in both medium and heavily toasted oak casks. The time spent in these casks brings out more pronounced oaky and smoky notes to the distillate and ultimately to the spirit. Invented in 1888 by Spyros Metaxa, the unique amber spirit is made by aging Muscat wine in oak casks and infusing with Mediterranean herbs and botanicals. Bottled at 40% abv.
Expect aromas of coffee, orange peel, chocolate and toasted oak, before a palate of dried fruit, zesty orange and hints of spice. The finish is long and aromatic with more hints of orange and spice. Enjoy on ice.
