Created by The Macallan’s Whisky Maker, Russell Greig, who is an avid Bond fan, The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release celebrates the continued ties between The Macallan and James Bond, following The Six Decades of Bond Collection in 2022.
Distilled in 2-007, the American oak casking represents the American base of the Diamonds Are Forever film, and the natural colour of the whisky mimics the Aztec sandstone in the Nevada desert scene. Bond is also shown in the film to be a connoisseur of sherry, and so to reflect this, The Macallan’s bespoke hybrid red wine and sherry seasoned oak casks were the obvious choice.
Bottled at a an abv almost as smooth as the agent himself, you’ll find this one an easy-sipper at 45.5% abv.
