Description
The second release in Lochlea’s limited edition series inspired by the changing seasons. This expression was created using the barley grown at their farm as well as their own water source. This release, Harvest Edition, marks the end of summer. The coral red on the label is inspired by the colour the Ayrshire soil takes once the barley has been harvested. It was matured in bourbon, port, and Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at 46% abv. It is free from both artificial colouring and chill filtration.
The dram opens with aromas of ripe pear, apple pie, and oatcakes. The palate brings parma violets, juicy strawberries, and toasted marshmallows before leading into the gentle finish full of freshly cut grass and cereal.
