Description
Named for the Lindores monk who first distilled ‘aqua vitae’ at Lindores Abbey in 1494, this is Batch Two of the distillery’s Friar John Cor ‘Cask Strength Congregation Batch’. The Lowland single malt has been matured in a combination of bourbon, STR and peated rum casks, before being decanted at a cask strength of 60.9% abv. Free from chill filtration or added colouring.
Expect sweet and fruity aromas of maple syrup, banana, apples and cinnamon, along with subtle waves of earthy peat. On the velvety palate, we find ripe pear, roasted banana, mixed spice and caramelised nutty almonds followed by more earthy peat and a hint of coastal air. A long lasting finish of plenty character.
