A spark from the sky setting the land ablaze, a regal Phoenix then rose from the ash and smoke, soaring above the distillery; its wings of fire powering the stills of Lagavulin…Virigin oak casks shine in this expression, their spice pairing with the intense peatiness of this 12-year-old, bottled at a powerful 57.3% abv.
Aromas of dry peat, charcoal, spice and sweetness leads to an oily, sweet and salty palate with lemon acidity, finishing up with more intense smoke and spice.
