Description
Grace Île 25 Year Old is a single malt scotch whisky distilled on Islay – though the distillery responsible for making this magnificent malt remains a mystery. Matured exclusively in American oak casks for a quarter of a century, the whisky’s powerful peated notes have subdued over time, allowing for fruitier flavours to complement the whole profile. It was bottled at 40% abv by The Character of Islay Whisky Company.
A coastal nose on this one, with notes of sea spray, ash, oily oak and smouldering ash. The palate brings out sweeter, fruitier flavours, with vanilla toffee, bursts of citrus, apricot jam and toasted almonds. The maritime undertones continue in the finish which has a last wisp of sweet smoke.
