Description
From The GlenAllachie’s limited edition Sherry Cask Series, bottled as a part of their Wood Collection, this nine-year-old single malt has been initially aged in American oak bourbon barrels, before being treated to a finish in expertly selected Oloroso sherry casks. The darkest dry Sherry style, Oloroso is renowned for its nutty, dried fruit qualities. Bottled at 48% abv, the whisky is free from chill filtration and at natural colour.
On the nose, heather honey, mocha and dried apricot notes develop into cinnamon butter, red velvet cake and marzipan aromas. The palate is bursting with initial flavours of dark chocolate, honeycomb and butterscotch, before leading to red berries, ginger and damons with hints of poached apples and muscovado sugar.
