As the name suggests, this liquid spent its time in a Chinquapin oak barrel, giving it a deep, polished mahogany colour, and herbal flavour profile. On the nose, you’ll find a rich medley of liquorice, manuka honey, and butterscotch, alongside hints of crystallised ginger, cinnamon butter, and mocha. The palate follows with layers of aniseed, vanilla extract, and heather honey, gradually giving way to mocha, ginger spice, and treacle. Subtle notes of rose petal and toffee round off the experience, offering a depth of flavour that showcases the unique character of the cask.
