Description
A celebratory release to mark the 200th Anniversary of Edradour, Enigma No. 1 is a 35 year old Highland single malt distilled in 1989 – a true piece of whisky history, with only 498 bottles released.
The liquid spent the intervening years between its distillation on 27/09/1989 to its bottling on 02/07/2025, maturing in a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt, showcasing the richness and depth achieved through long sherry maturation.
Bottled at 52.6% ABV, this release is non-chillfiltered and natural in colour, you can expect a nose of sherry-soaked stone fruits, with the balanced earthiness of dark chocolate, followed by a palate of treacle, spices and espresso. The finish brings beautifully crafted dram to a close with long warming notes of sticky toffee pudding, toasted nuts and dark cocoa.
With this celebratory bottling, you’ll also receive 2 beautiful crystal glasses, all housed within a stunningly crafted wooden presentation box.
