Description
The Clydebuilt 27 Year Old Blended Malt Whisky is a brilliant release from Ardgowan, showcasing what can be achieved in the landscape of new Scottish distilleries.
A highly limited release with just 408 bottles released, this bottling brings together Highland and Island whiskies, matured for 27 years in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, alongside a 33-year-old Speyside malt distilled at Benrinnes, all bottled together at 41.8% ABV, without chill filtration, and with natural colour.
On the nose, the whisky opens with citrus, gentle white pepper and notes of marzipan. The palate is rich with dark cherries, toasted marshmallow, sticky raisins and pear drops, while the finish is long and satisfying, with further touches of marzipan and subtle sweetness.
