Description
Ardbeg’s first barbeque-inspired expression, this unique Islay whisky is the work of renowned Master Distiller, Dr Bill Lumsden, and chef, Christian Stevenson (aka DJ BBQ). Matured in a combination of three toasted casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, double charred oak casks and BBQ casks, the result is a dram with a meaty, peaty punch. Presented at 50.9% abv.
On the nose, expect aromas of charcoal, smoky wood, aromatic herbs, hickory smoked ham and cinnamon dusted espresso. The palate leads to spicy BBQ ribs, warming smoke, flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather and clove. Hints of aniseed, ginger and tar arise before a spicy finish.
