Expect salt, cream, spice and sweetness on the nose, along with peaches, smoky oak and Islay minerality. The palate is bursting with cloves, rich chocolate, overripe banana, stewed dates and peat that continues into the finish, balanced by maple syrup, mulled wine tannins and almond butter.

$20.00 Availability: In StockWe are very excited to have Laphroaig as the featured distillery for our next Digital Drams. At 7.30pm, on the 15th of February, we will be joined by David Miles to explore this iconic brand; with the tasting featuring the new Laphroaig Elements 1.0.
One thing is certain about Laphroaig single malt: no drinker is indifferent to it. Some are bewildered by its appeal, and others love its unapologetically full-on peaty, medicinal charms. If you discover that you belong to the latter category, this can quickly become a go-to dram of choice.
The new ‘Elements’ collection celebrates innovation and creativity in whisky making, and heralds a new era of experimentation with mashing and fermentation. Fermented for 55 hours in two sizes of mash tun and with two types of wort, cloudy and semi-cloudy, before a maturation in bourbon casks. Bottled at 58.6% abv.

$50.00 Availability: In StockUncompromising in its bold flavours and as natural as it comes, this Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 16 has made its way from the storm-lashed Islay in West Scotland, all the way to your dram glass, exactly as it was poured from the barrel.
Bottled at a punchy 58.5% abv, you can expect a nose of sweet, stewed apples topped with crispy, slightly caramelized pastry. This is underpinned by hints of cereal, tanned leather and vanilla. On the palate, you’ll experience upfront sweet and spicy notes, with notes of vanilla and sea salt intermingled with savoury notes of pork crackling with hints of freshly ground black pepper. The finish is long and warming with notes of gentle spice, charred oak, smoked mackerel and sea salt encapsulated in an oily mouthfeel.

The nose is full of maritime influence alongside a warming vanilla note from bourbon barrels, and the classic Islay peat of course. The palate brings sweet notes of fruity melon and lemon zest, before toasted oak and salty sea spray with wisps of smoke. The finish is long and sweet with more smoky notes.

The result is a well-balanced whisky that intertwines strong peat with rich fruits perfectly, and is bottled at 48% abv.
Sweet medicinal peat notes give way to honey sweetness, cloves and smoked bacon. A sweet and aromatic palate, with creamy chocolate and polish, leading to a long, sweet and spicy finish.

$109.00 Availability: In StockA limited release, and slightly mellower version, of the iconic Islay single malt from Laphroaig. Originally released in 2015 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the distillery, it was so well-received that they decided to release more! This 16-year-old has spent its life in ex-bourbon barrels, allowing for the whisky’s smoky profile to soften over the years, rounded off by the vanilla notes from the American Oak. It was bottled at 48% abv without chill filtration or added colouring.
On the nose, sweet leather, oaky spices, vanilla and wood character mingle, followed by maple syrup, roasted chestnuts and a crack of black pepper. Flavours from the American oak shine through in the palate: sweet treacle, caramel, manuka honey, alongside Laphroaig’s signature smoky flavours of creosote and salted seaweed. Expect a long finish here with plenty of smoky and sweet notes, and a hint of medicinal character.
