Description
Magic Cask is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, comprised mostly of whisky from the closed Imperial Distillery, drawn from first-fill bourbon barrels and blended with a younger Speyside whisky which was re-racked into Oloroso-seasoned butt casks. After sampling them three years later, the team at Compass Box were so fascinated that they began more experimentation, leading to the Magic Cask! This expression was bottled in March 2020 at46% abv without chill-filtration or added colouring, with just 5,538 bottles produced.
Aromas of marmalade, chai tea and plum pudding fill the nose. Flavours of toffee and chocolate fill the palate, with ripe golden dessert apples dominating the taste. The finish has lingering oak.
