Description
From White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, this new Wire Works release has been named Alter Ego because the distillers have opted for lengthier cut points and a different cask selection to their flagship single malt. Wire Works typically matures in majority STR casks, with some bourbon casks, however Alter Ego has flipped this selection on its head. The result is more juicy fruits and buttery biscuit flavour, and slightly more peat, although you’ll recognise the DNA of the English whisky’s previous expressions. Presented at 51.5% abv. One of only 5,393 bottles.
Expect sweet notes of of vanilla and caramel on the nose, with flavours of lemon meringue, tropical fruit sweets and buttery biscuits on the palate. A light hit of peat comes forth on the finish.
