Description
The oldest and rarest single malt released to date by the Highland distillery of Glenmorangie, Pride 1974 was distilled on October 30th, 1974. Laid down in two parcels: one in ex-bourbon refill casks and another in Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Maturing for 41 years, only 503 decanters have been produced of Pride 1974, each crafted by celebrated glass designer Laurence Brabant. The nose is sweet with salted caramel toffee and chocolate truffles, Turkish delight and a hint of balsamic vinegar. The palate opens with a soft gentle mouth-feel, before vibrant baked apples, oranges and honey, toffee and molasses balanced by double cream, cloves and aniseed. The finish is lingering and soothing with pecan nuts, leather and fudge notes.
