Description
A heavily peated expression from Campbeltown’s Springbank distillery, this 13 year old single malt has been matured for 12 years in bourbon casks before a further 15 months in Malbec casks. The nose has coastal notes of sea salt, becoming fruity with cocktail cherries, blackberries and red currants atop a subtle cigar leaf note. The fruitiness continues on the palate with rhubarb crumble, stewed apples and juicy plums. Cured ham and a touch of peat emerges before red wine tannins on the smoky finish.
