Another brilliant edition from Gordon & Macphail. This Linkwood 25 year old is an addition to their ‘Distillery Labels’ range, one which celebrates the independent bottlers relationship with Scottish distilleries, both large and small. Matured for 25 years in Gordon & Macphail’s own casks, this Speyside single malt whisky is full of spicy, sweet sherry flavours. It is a level-headed 43% abv, it will be a favourite of any whisky-historian; on the bottle is the original historical label used by the distillery.
This fine dram has aromas of sweet sherry, with notes of demerara sugar and orange peel. A smooth palate, it has notes of dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is medium-long, with warm spices and toasted oak.
