Description
A testament to moderation. Distilled all the way back in 1967, when Concorde had just been unveiled, this whisky has had a 33 year long slumber in first fill sherry butts. It was bottled at 40% abv in 2000 by world-renowned independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail.
The nose is divine, with subtle aromas of prunes, strawberry jam, and balsamic vinegar. Tasting notes include marmalade, roasted nuts, coffee and sherry. A whiff of smoke, with some cinnamon and nutmeg arrive in a medium long finish. A hidden gem from the highest village in the Speyside region, this is a collectors item that calls for peaceful reflection and appreciation.
