Description
Distilled at Imperial Distillery in 1979 and matured for 42 years in a refill American hogshead before bottling in December 2021, this single malt has been specially released by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Private Collection. Just 61 bottles were filled at 49.2% abv.
Expect aromas of dark chocolate, wood polish, and fresh vanilla on the nose. The palate brings milk chocolate, toasted nuts, malt loaf, Christmas cake, and candied orange peel before leading into the dramatic and lingering finish with herbal notes appearing at the close.
